Moulinex: Electro Remixes & Tracks

Category: Music

Moulinex //Moulinex is a Munich based artist… with influences from french electronic pioneers (air, daft punk, just to name a few) to English artists such as New Order.

I found a really good Cut Copy remix a few days ago by Moulinex. They remixed the track “Lights and Music” pretty well, keeping that classic 80’s sound with a new modern electro twist to it. The remix sounded pretty interesting and catchy throughout the whole track without much noticeable redundant parts.

I checked out Moulinex’s other tracks on their site, and they’re definitely suitable for Cut Copy fans ;)

Sally Shapiro: Electro Artist

Category: Music

Sally Shapiro //Sally Shapiro is a Swedish singer who’s tracks send a strong reminiscence of 80’s electropop. If you’re looking for truly 80’s influenced music, Sally Shapiro’s Disco Romance album is quite perfect. The beats and synths are definitely mostly vintage samples that were produced quite well. The vocals, style and composition of her tracks follow many typical 80’s pop music. Even though 80’s pop music was quite cheesy, her Disco Romance album brings back the 80’s but in a newer, less cheesier and more catchier way.

    Shitdisco //
Shitdisco: An electro group based in Glasgow, UK (That’s all you really need to know).
Moving on to their music: If you really love cheesy electro music (such as Calvin Harris’s Acceptable in the 80’s) then you will love Shitdisco’s single OK. The synths and vocals are cheesy yet additively catchy. I’m not a huge fan of their other tracks, but they will definitely be at least a one hit wonder for your electro playlist.

    You Like Music For Robots!

    Category: Music

Electro Track To Check Out //
Are you into electro music? Busy P’s track Rainbow Man, another track from the Ed Banger Records might be for you! The track is very basic, almost somewhat monotone when it comes to the synths because they’re not melodic at all. The track is filled with pulsating beats, buzzing synths that might remind you of robots walking!!!! Everything is looped over and over again so this track does get quite repetitive after a minute or two into the song.

    Santogold

    Santogold //
Santogold: you might not know what to expect when checking out her stuff. Unlike most artists whos tracks sound oh so similar, you can differentiate different sounds from her tracks. While listening to “Lights Out” by Santogold, it did not sound like her typical tracks at all (it sounded like some pop-y rock track), then switching to Creator, which is more electronica/RnB sound to it. If you’re into MIA, you might enjoy listening to Santogold.

    Santogold Tracks to Check Out

    • Creator (M.I.A-esque)
    • LES Artistes (uplifting and upbeat, somewhat like a power ballad)
    • Lights Out (cheesy pop-rock sound)
