Shitdisco //
Shitdisco: An electro group based in Glasgow, UK (That’s all you really need to know).
Moving on to their music: If you really love cheesy electro music (such as Calvin Harris’s Acceptable in the 80’s) then you will love Shitdisco’s single OK. The synths and vocals are cheesy yet additively catchy. I’m not a huge fan of their other tracks, but they will definitely be at least a one hit wonder for your electro playlist.

Electro Track To Check Out //
Are you into electro music?
Busy P’s track Rainbow Man, another track from the Ed Banger Records might be for you! The track is very basic, almost somewhat monotone when it comes to the synths because they’re not melodic at all. The track is filled with pulsating beats, buzzing synths that might remind you of robots walking!!!! Everything is looped over and over again so this track does get quite repetitive after a minute or two into the song.

Santogold //
Santogold: you might not know what to expect when checking out her stuff. Unlike most artists whos tracks sound oh so similar, you can differentiate different sounds from her tracks. While listening to “Lights Out” by Santogold, it did not sound like her typical tracks at all (it sounded like some pop-y rock track), then switching to Creator, which is more electronica/RnB sound to it. If you’re into MIA, you might enjoy listening to Santogold.
Santogold Tracks to Check Out
- Creator (M.I.A-esque)
- LES Artistes (uplifting and upbeat, somewhat like a power ballad)
- Lights Out (cheesy pop-rock sound)

Crystal Castles //
Crystal Castles is a Toronto based duo that produced, must I say: one of the hottest electro tracks at the moment especially when it comes to their remixes (on my playlist anyways). If you’re into Calvin Harris, JUSTICE, Ladytron, MSTRKRFT you’ll be into this band! How do they sound like? Hmm.. they use very interesting synths that might remind you of corny midis that you’d find on oldschool Gameboy Games, but for some reason, it actually works well with their tracks without coming out cheesy. Other then that, you have female and/or male vocals that blend in well with the basic electro beats. All of their tracks are quite basic, nothing fancy there but it works for their tracks. Some of their tracks sound very similar to one another… so here’s a list of tracks that I personally think are their best (from their albums & remixes that they’ve released).
Crystal Castles Tracks to Check Out
- Lovers Who Uncover
- Crimewave
- Courtship Dating
- Crystal Castle’s remix of Bloc Party’s Hunting for Witches

CUT /// COPY
Cut Copy is an Australian based electro/new wave indie band… and they’re pretty cool.Getting straight to the point: if you’re into The Presents, Hot Chip, Junior Boys or Van She you will love Cut Copy.
Cut Copy’s latest album - In Ghost Colours has some of the most upbeat and well produced tracks that Cut Copy has to offer (in my opinion). Here’s a list of my favorite Cut Copy tracks:
From The Album: Bright Like Neon Love
These tracks remind me of mellow house music:
- That Was Just A Dream
- Future
- Time Stands Still
From The Album: In Ghost Colours
More upbeat dancey stuff.
