Matt & Kim //If you like really fun, carefree, playful, upbeat music: Matt & Kim is for you. There’s a childish innocent, hopeful tone to some of their sounds such as Daylight (my absolute favorite!).

A small venue at Spadina & College, El Mocambo was where Maria Taylor played (and 2 other opening bands). The concert was quite intimate, since it was a small venue. She was pretty humorous, down to earth and humble on stage. Her voice, amazing. The songs, undeniably comes to life on stage.

Late of Pier //
If you like Franz Ferdinand, Cut Copy or the Neo Plastix, then you might enjoy the track HeartBeat. He has a chill cool vocals like Franz Ferdinand’s lead singer and awesome electro beats like Neo Plastix and Cut Copy.
Have a listen on YouTube.

Grizzly Bears //If you’re into that folkish sound that Fleet Foxes has to offer with a mixture of Calexico and Iron & Wine, you might like Grizzly Bears! Their sound is quite similar, but much more ambient. The vocals flow smoothly with the music that gives off an ambient atmosphere, flowing banjos, guitars, drums, it’s great music to chill to.

Bat For Lashes //Bat For Lashes, a solo artist, Natasha Khan who’s British based. She’s quite an interesting one, having a background in producing her own music to being a visual artist on the side. As for her music, some of her tracks (such as Sarah) are quite psychedelic. The beats to her tracks flow nicely with the various instruments she uses in each song. I have to emphasize on the diverse range of instruments she uses in her music because it makes each track unique and interesting in it’s own way. You won’t be bore with the typical guitars and drums because she uses world-like instruments to fuse her songs together. Of course, her voice is absolutely beautiful.
If you’re into Feist, Catpower, Lykke Li you might definitely like her stuff

Moulinex //Moulinex is a Munich based artist… with influences from french electronic pioneers (air, daft punk, just to name a few) to English artists such as New Order.
I found a really good Cut Copy remix a few days ago by Moulinex. They remixed the track “Lights and Music” pretty well, keeping that classic 80’s sound with a new modern electro twist to it. The remix sounded pretty interesting and catchy throughout the whole track without much noticeable redundant parts.
I checked out Moulinex’s other tracks on their site, and they’re definitely suitable for Cut Copy fans
